I was up and out early today starting to shift what I hoped was the final bit of sand.
Well I managed to shift both 2 tonnes by 11:30 and finally completed filling the final 5.25 drums, so now all I have to do is make the mix, do the boreholes, and fill with the mix, ready for the seeds.
It took approx. 190litres (19x10L buckets) of sand to fill one drum and a 1 tonne bag filled 2.5 drums
Some time in March I will look to put up a frame over, covered with enviromesh
looking good bet your glad thats all the sand done. and before you know it time to sow the seeds.

Looks great Darren, bet your fed up at the sight of sand! I'm sure it'll pay off, all be worth it in a few months!
ReplyDeleteBilly, Damo, I hate bloody sand
ReplyDeleteLooking at the set up, I wonder if it is over kill?
Maybe to start but in a few years when I have hopefully mastered things more, I will need the depth
Besides, I am hoping this will last me 10 years plus, also when you see others from NVS DVD's etc, they have far more extravagant set up's
Hello Darren,
ReplyDeleteI have had a look at your barrows on your trenches and they look really good. Now the easy bit is doing the boreholes, never mind can't wait to see them all growing.
After all this trouble you had better get a red card, at the New Forest Show.
